Single Fin ("Single Fin," "we," "us") is based in Carlsbad, California. This policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information through singlefinai.com, our contact forms and our CIOsurge newsletter.

Information we collect

Information you give us: name, email address, company, job title (if provided) and phone number (optional) when you submit a contact form, request a consultation or subscribe to CIOsurge, plus anything you write in a message.
Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site and dates/times of visits, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use it

To respond to inquiries and provide our services; to send CIOsurge and other communications you've requested (you can unsubscribe at any time); to understand and improve our website; to keep the site secure and prevent fraud; and to meet legal obligations.

beehiiv (newsletter delivery)
Analytics providers such as Google Analytics (site usage)

These providers process data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell personal information for money, but we do share identifiers and website activity with advertising partners such as LinkedIn for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use essential cookies to run the site and, with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies. You can change your choices at any time through the cookie settings link on our site or in your browser settings.

Personal information we collect (past 12 months)

Identifiers. Examples: Name, email address, phone number, company (and job title if provided). Sources: You, through contact forms, consultation requests and newsletter sign-up. Retention: 3 years after our last contact with you, or until you ask us to delete it. Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus 30 days.
Internet or network activity. Examples: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, dates and times of visits, cookie and pixel identifiers. Sources: Automatically from your browser through cookies, pixels and similar technologies (including the LinkedIn Insight Tag). Retention: Up to 13 months for analytics and advertising data.
Inferences. Examples: Likely interests and professional profile drawn from the above (for example, interest in AI or security services). Sources: Created by us and our advertising partners from the categories above. Retention: Up to 13 months.

We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law.

Why we use it

To respond to inquiries and provide our services; to send CIOsurge and other communications you request; to understand and improve our website; to measure and personalize advertising; to keep the site secure and prevent fraud; and to meet legal obligations.

Selling and sharing

We do not sell personal information for money. We do share identifiers and internet or network activity with advertising partners, such as LinkedIn, for cross-context behavioral advertising (showing you relevant ads on other sites and measuring their results). Under California law this counts as "sharing," and it may count as a "sale." We do not knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16.

We also disclose personal information to service providers who process it for us under contract, such as website hosting, CRM, email and newsletter delivery, and analytics.

Your right to opt out, including Global Privacy Control

You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information at any time:

Visit Your Privacy Choices (also linked in every page footer) and select "Opt out of sale/sharing."
Turn on Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser. We treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out request for that browser, and our advertising tags will not load.

Your other rights

Right to know and access: the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, its sources, why we use it, and who we disclose it to.
Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We don't collect any.

We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days (we may extend once by another 45 days and will tell you if we do). To protect you, we will verify your identity by matching information you give us against what we hold, usually your email address. Opt-out requests do not need verification.

Authorized agents

You can have an authorized agent submit a request for you. We will ask the agent for your signed permission and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us, unless the agent holds a valid power of attorney.

Non-retaliation

We will not discriminate against you for using any of these rights. We won't deny you services, charge different prices, or give you a different level of service because you made a request.

Children
